As the Northwest Region Director of Presbyterian Medical Services in San Juan County, New Mexico, she provided executive leadership to multiple programs and services for over six and a half years. a Home Care and Hospice Program; an Adolescent Residential Treatment Program; a Transportation Program; and a Homeless Program.

Dr. Geetha Mathew MD, Medical Director

Dr. Mathew completed her residency training and a chief residency year in family medicine at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, a UCLA-affiliated training program. She subsequently worked in a Northern California FQHC doing full-spectrum family medicine, including inpatient care and obstetrics. After moving to Australia and completing board certification in her field there, she continued to work in family medicine, this time in private practice and hospital care within the government-funded healthcare system. While in Australia, Dr Mathew also completed training in low-risk anesthetic procedures and worked in Australia’s remote Northern Territory as a senior staff physician at a district hospital that served the surrounding indigenous communities. Her duties included inpatient pediatric and adult medicine, emergency room coverage, training of junior doctors and medical students, and providing anesthesia for local surgeries. Dr. Mathew’s other previous experience includes managing several healthcare infrastructure and delivery projects in Indonesia’s westernmost Aceh province. She also received an Masters in Public Health in 2008 from James Cook University in Queensland, Australia.

Dr. Mathew joined Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. in September 2010, initially as a primary care physician at ANHSI’s Casey Health Center. She became ANHSI’s Medical Director on May 1, 2011. As Medical Director, Dr. Mathew provides clinical and administrative leadership, supervises the health center’s providers, and is responsible for assuring the quality, continuity, and appropriateness of medical care services.
